More than 80 people enraptured by raptors!

On Saturday, September 26th, Splash presented a Nature in the Neighborhood program called Raptor Rapture: Birds of Prey and the Art of Falconry.  Master Falconer, Bill Corbett, brought several of his feathered friends and introduced them to a crowd of 85 people who packed the Splash Center.

We met Rudolph the beautiful Barbary Falcon; Bob the Western Screech Owl, whose best friend is a teddy bear; and Ethel the Harris Hawk, who munched on a rabbit to the delight/horror of the crowd.  Bill shared the birds’ habits and quirks and explained what it takes to become a falconer.

Many thanks to Bill, his birds, and everyone who came out on Saturday.  If you enjoyed the program or would like to send us some good photos/videos, please share your Splash experience.  We’ll be posting information about upcoming programs on the website, so check back soon and we hope to see you again at Splash!
