Beta Pi Society

We are pleased to announce that the Beta Pi Society has contributed $4,200 to Sacramento Splash in order to fund the training of 21 teachers new to the Elementary Program: Investigating Vernal Pools.

These fun, hands-on teacher workshops not only prepare teachers to use the Splash curriculum, they also introduce creative ways to integrate math, language arts, history, and art into science lessons, thereby engaging students with a variety of strengths.

Beta Pi is the local chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, a professional honorary Society of women educators. The Society promotes professional and personal growth of its members and excellence in education. In their announcement of the sponsorship, Beta Pi stated:

Beta Pi members believe in environmental education that reaches all students and encourages thoughtful interaction with our environment. As a non-profit organization, Splash continues to need support from outside sources. It is our pleasure, as educators and participants of Splash, to donate funds to ensure the Splash vision continues.

For more information about Beta Pi, please contact Carmen Crujido at cjcrujido@frontiernet.net or Maggie Ellis at mellisegea@gmail.com.

Many thanks to Beta Pi for helping local teachers bring science to life for their students. As a result of your support, 21 teachers will engage hundreds of students in inquiry-based science lessons in preparation for an outdoor adventure at Splash.
