If you are a teacher interested in participating in the
Elementary Program, please review the links below to determine
your eligibility, review our expectations of teachers, and sign
up for a place on the waiting list.
To be eligible to participate in the Splash elementary program
you must teach 4th or 5th grade at a school in Sacramento County.
If you do not meet these criteria, we cannot provide your class
with a guided field trip of the Mather Field Vernal Pools.
Nonetheless, you are encouraged to utilize the Splash materials
via this web site.
Due to the diversity of socio-economic populations served by the
program, we use a sliding scale to determine the fee for each
class. The fee per class ranges between $60 and $300 and is
based on the percentage of students at your school receiving
free/reduced-price meals. If you don’t know this statistic off
the top of your head, you can look it up on the Education Data Partnership
website.
Once you are accepted into the program, you will receive a full
set of curriculum materials, which includes all of the items
listed below. You will be required to sign a Materials Loan Agreement, but you may keep the
materials at no cost for as long as you continue to teach the
curriculum.
The PDF document above provides detailed information about
how the Splash elementary curriculum aligns to the 4th and 5th
grade standards established by the California State Board of
Education.
The Splash Center is located at: 4426 Excelsior Road
Mather, CA 95655.

Be advised: Splash does not maintain regular business hours for the public. Please make arrangements in advance before you visit by calling or emailing a Splasher using Contact Us.
