Will, Parent Chaperone

Wilmer Callupe is the father of a 5th grader at Barbara Comstock Morse Elementary.  He chaperoned two class field trips to the Splash Center in back-to-back years because his older daughter participated in the Elementary Program in 2008-09 and his younger daughter in 2009-10.

Will was raised in Peru and remembers exploring the outdoors and investigating the local wildlife.  He sees that his daughters don't have that kind of connection to the natural world and believes that Splash offers positive ways for kids to learn about nature.

Mr. Salas, 5th Grade Teacher

Brian Salas is a 5th grade teacher at Barbara Comstock Morse Elementary, a Title I school in Elk Grove.  He is a firm supporter of Splash because it brings science to life and opens his students' eyes to the natural wonders that surround them.

Cynthia, Parent Chaperone

Cynthia's daughter is a 5th grade student at Barbara Comstock Morse Elementary.  On February 19, 2010, Cynthia volunteered to chaperone a class field trip to the Splash Center.  She walked through our doors never having heard of Splash, but she walked away determined to spread the word about this valuable community resource.

Gavin, 5th Grader

Gavin is a 5th-grade student at Genevieve Didion Elementary.  He is also an avid Boy Scout and nature enthusiast.  Click on the video to hear him share his experience of his class field trip to the Splash Center and vernal pools at Mather Field.
