Resources for Teachers

Sacramento Splash is a free, hands-on science program offered to 5th Grade and High School  teachers in the City and County of Sacramento. Funding is limited to schools within Sacramento County. Nonetheless, everyone is encouraged to utilize the Splash materials available on this website.

Elementary School - Vernal Pool Program

Life in Our Watershed: Investigating Vernal Pools is a 5th grade-level curriculum with 13 lessons and one field trip. Version 3.0  of the curriculum is being used by numerous Sacramento County school districts. Field trips and the Critter Catalog & Flower Facts focus on the Mather Field vernal pools in eastern Sacramento County. 

In addition to the curriculum, additional information on the elementary school program is provided for teachers new to Splash and for returning teachers

High School - Stream and Water Quality Program

Life in Our Watershed: Investigating Streams and Water Quality is a high school level curriculum with 3 lessons and a laboratory experiment. 

In addition to the curriculum, additional information on the high school program is provided for teachers new to Splash and for stream and water quality links on the internet.
