Splash in the Class

Splash in the Class presentations are a fun way to teach your students how to take care of their local environment. These interactive presentations are designed for grades 3 - 6 and last about 70 minutes. Thanks to the sponsorship of the Sacramento Stormwater Quality Partnership and the City of Sacramento Department of Utilities, these engaging presentations are FREE.

Splash presenters introduce the water cycle and aquatic food chain using colorful handouts and posters. Children learn about the importance of local rivers in our lives, how some of our everyday activities can cause water pollution, and what each of us can do to become the solution to pollution!

To reinforce the water pollution prevention message, each child will receive their very own water pollution folder, pencil, Sammy Salmon poster, and other fun items at the end of the presentation.

Splash in the Class Calendar 2009-10

This calendar shows classes that have been scheduled for a Splash in the Class presentation in 2009-10.

Presentation Eligibility

To be eligible for a Splash in the Class presentation, you must teach 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th grade at a school within one of the following jurisdictions:

  • City of Sacramento
  • City of Citrus Heights
  • City of Elk Grove
  • City of Folsom
  • City of Galt
  • City of Rancho Cordova
  • Unincorporated areas of Sacramento County

Tell your city you want a presentation!

We would love to provide Splash in the Class presentations for every interested teacher, but due to funding constraints, we can only deliver a certain number of presentations within each city.  If Splash was unable to accommodate your request for a presentation, please use this form to contact your city government.

Splash in the Class Evaluation

If your class received a free Splash in the Class presentation in 2009-10, all we ask is that you fill out a simple evaluation form.
