Public Programs

You don't have to be a student to participate in Splash programs! Several times throughout the year, we open our doors and invite the public to learn with us as we explore the amazing natural spaces that surround us.

Nature in the Neighborhood

The Splash program’s Nature in the Neighborhood series provides fun and educational nature programs to audiences of all ages and interests. Most of these programs and activities are designed for families, though some specialty workshops may be geared towards adults.

Lifelong Learning Classes

In order to fulfill its mission, Splash directs most of its programming toward children though school-based programs and family-oriented activities such as Nature in the Neighborhood and Storytime.

Vernal Pool Tours

Each year trained docents provide tours of the Mather Field Vernal Pools during the peak flowering phase.  In 2012, tours will be offered on the following days and times:

Splash Club

Splash Club activities help kids build connections to people and places that expand their horizons, build their sense of belonging, and encourage them to care for their community and environment. To learn more about the importance of outdoor education and experience, check out more information for parents.

Respect growing, living things

The old Lakota was wise. He knew that man's heart away from nature becomes hard; he knew that lack of respect for growing, living things soon led to lack of respect for humans too.

- Chief Luther Standing Bear
