What is Nature in the Neighborhood?

The Splash program has expanded beyond its school programs to offer a broad array of low-cost nature programs and activities for residents and visitors in the Sacramento area.

Nature in the Neighborhood offers educational and entertaining nature programs to audiences of all ages and interests. Most of these programs and activities are designed for families; however, some specialty workshops are more technical. The programs all meet at the Splash Education Center, located at 4426 Excelsior Road, Mather, CA 95655, at the north entrance to Independence at Mather.

Many of the programs are conducted by Splash staff, consisting of professional scientists, educators and naturalists with extensive educational and career experience in the life and physical sciences. There also are special guest presenters who share their expertise and passion for various subjects.
