The Water Quality Consortium

In 1999, a consortium of agencies joined together to create Splash in order to improve local water quality through education. The Water Quality Consortium is comprised of the:

Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District
Sacramento County Department of Water Resources
City of Sacramento Department of Utilities

For the past 12 years, Splash has flourished with steady support from the Consortium. Precious few non-profits are blessed to begin life with reliable funding.  That funding made Splash what it is today and, for that, we will be forever grateful to the Consortium.

However, local government has been hit hard as a result of the recent economic downturn.  We can no longer expect the same levels of support from the Consortium and are working diligently to diversify our funding so that we may continue providing high-quality, low-cost environmental science programs to the community.

Open a child's eyes to a whole new world

Urban children have few opportunities to experience the wonders of nature.

9 out of 10 Splash teachers say that exploring the outdoors was a new experience for their students.
