Class Websites about Splash

  • Class Websites about Splash

Every year, nearly 100 classes participate in Splash school programs.  Inevitably, some of these students and teachers are compelled to share their Splash experience and their newfound knowledge with the Internet community.  Click on the links below to view their sites.

Mr. Castro's After School Splash Club

In 2008-2009, Splash piloted Splash Club After School, a version of Splash Club that can take place after school on the school site.  Mr. Castro graciously volunteered his time to host a Splash Club at Earl Warren Elementary using curricula and materials assembled by Splash for this purpose.  Check out the website for more about his class' involvement with Splash and photos of the fun activities they did with Splash Club After School.

Flowers of Vernal Pools

In 2008-09, Ms. Hardaway's 4th grade class at Prairie Elementary created this VoiceThread production.  The students produced beautiful art of the flowers in vernal pools, created an online slide show of their pieces, and then narrated the show with information about vernal pools.

Very exciting!

The unit you have developed is wonderful! I found that the students were very engaged and enjoyed learning about their flower and critter. The field trip itself really pulls everything they have learned in class together and is very exciting for them. I am really looking forward to doing the
field trip again next year.

There was never a dull moment...

My wife and I spent a wonderful afternoon with Bill Corbett and his live birds of prey. There was never a dull moment with folks of all ages attending to enjoy this educational and entertaining [Nature in the Neighborhood] program. This was our first time at Splash since moving into the Mather in July. We will be telling our friends about this terrific program.
