What is Sacramento Splash?
Sacramento Splash is a place-based,
watershed education program jointly sponsored by a consortium of
water agencies in Sacramento County: the Sacramento Regional
County Sanitation District, the City of Sacramento Department of
Utilities, and the Sacramento County Department of Water
Resources. The Splash program provides opportunities for
Sacramento County students and their families to explore the
diversity of life in our local aquatic ecosystems, including
vernal pools (elementary curriculum) and streams (high school
curriculum). Through their studies in the classroom and in the
field, students learn the importance of water quality and how they
can improve water habitats where they live.
Life
in Our Watershed: Investigating Vernal Pools is a
5th grade-level curriculum with 13 lessons and one field trip.
Version 3 of the curriculum is being used by numerous Sacramento County
school districts. Field trips and the Critter
Catalog & Flower Facts
focus on the Mather Regional Park vernal pools in eastern Sacramento
County. Read the Splash

elementary program flyer.
Life
in Our Watershed: Investigating Streams and Water Quality
is a high school level curriculum with 3 lessons and a
laboratory experiment. Read the Splash
